1. The Red Sea opened wide!
2. Water gushed out of the rock!
3. Bread rained down from heaven!
4. The walls of Jericho came tumbling down!
5. The sun stood still in the sky!
6. The giant Goliath fell down dead!
7. The mouths of the lions were stopped!
8. Jesus said to the Legion – “Come out!”
Jesus said to Lazarus – “Come forth!”
9. The Disciples said – “In the name of Jesus, rise and walk!”
10. Greater is He who is in you than He that is in the world!
If God is for us, who can be against?!
11. Is anything too hard for the Lord?!
12. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
13. My God will supply all of your needs!
This God is my God!

Well, maybe. What worries me about the story of the walls of Jericho is the wholesale slaughter that followed. Joshua and his murdering hordes killed every living creature in Jericho -- human and animal -- so that blood flooded the streets. Men, women, children, babies: stabbed, slashed, bludgeoned to death. It is not an edifying story, it is a disgrace. If it actually happened, if Joshua and his mob actually did exist, they were not heroes, they were war criminals.
